How to Use Facebook Groups to Get More Discovery Calls

So you want to get more clients? Your first step is to book more discovery calls.

In this blog post, I will show you everything you need to do to get more discovery calls through Facebook groups.

If you are just getting started, you probably don't have a very large audience.

This means that you need to do something called “leveraging other people's audiences”.

One of the best ways to do this is by posting at offer in another person's Facebook group. Now, we want to make sure we're doing this in a group that allows us to do promos. We never want to be spammy and we always want to offer value. My suggestion is to find one or two Facebook groups that you really like, and you think your ideal clients would be in, and start seeing what other people are posting it. Get a feel for what it is is appropriate and what is inappropriate.

Once you feel like you've gotten the hang of what kind of content works very well in those groups, it's time to make your own post.

What you're going to do is you're going to start off by writing a post going to catch the attention of your ideal clients, the people you want to hop on the phone with. In this post you're going to offer some kind of phone call, whether you call it a strategy session, a discovery call, a clarity call, etc.

Step 1: write an attention-grabbing headline.

You want to write something that's going to really catch the eye of your ideal client and what I found a lot of times is that numbers seem to convert really well.

So sometimes when I wanted to catch the attention of my ideal client I'll share my income stats, just as an idea.

The thing that you want to keep in mind here the thing that you're wanting to do is to use something that you know will grab their attention.

You'll get better at this with time but I will say that the headline is the most important part of the post because that's what's going to catch their attention, so really spend some time on this.

Step 2: clarify who you want to get on the phone with.

So now that we've gotten their attention, you really want to take some time and be very specific about who it is you want to hop on the phone with because we want to call our ideal clients.

What that looks like is something like saying something like, “Are you a new entrepreneur who is just getting started and get some clarity around their next steps?” Or you could say something like, “Are you a establish entrepreneur that just doesn't have time to post to social media and is sick and tired of being stuck on the computer?”

What we're doing here is a really taking the time to call out and be specific and talk to our ideal clients.

Step 3: give them 1-3 benefits to hopping on the phone with you.

So the reason why we're doing this is because we want them to know why they want to hop on the phone with you.

Offering a free call just isn't enough.

You really want to give them reasons for hopping on the phone with you.

There's an interesting study that I once read (and can’t seem to find at the moment) but it was shown that if you gave someone a reason to do something they were 10 times more likely to actually do it.

So what we're wanting to do here is really give them a reason to hop on the phone with you, and we like to give those three reasons so that everyone finds at least one reason that is applicable to them.

Step 4: have them, comment, “YES” below if they want to snag their spot.

What this is doing here is this is allowing you to sort of play with the Facebook group algorithm so that every time someone else comments it pushes your post up to the top.

This will increase the amount of people who are commenting because they're continually seeing your post at the top of the group.

It's also a very good way for other people to see that other people want what is you’re offering.

This is social proof and it will do wonders for your conversion rate.

Step 5: use a happy, smiling photo of yourself.

I don't care what you look like, we want to see you we want to connect with you.

You absolutely have to share a photo of yourself.

You cannot use stock photos, no one will notice.

People love to see other people's faces. So just suck it up and do it, we want to get to know you!

Step 6: share your post.

Step 7: follow up, as needed.

Just so you know, sales are typically closed after 7 follow-ups on average.

What that means is you are never being too pushy, especially if you're doing it in a way that feels authentic. It's actually a wonderful favor that you're doing for people.

Use phrases like, “Are you still interested in getting my help to “achieve xyz goal?”.

You're allowing them to not miss out on this opportunity to hop on the phone with you and get some value. You are also sharing the mental burden of remembering to follow up.

So, if you shift your thinking around following up, you will find that you actually are doing them a service and you're showing them love by following up.

I find that a lot of entrepreneurs need help when it comes to shifting their minds around sales, around following up, around making money And this is one of the places to start.

So be sure to follow up! The fortune is in the follow-up.

Step 8: repeat Steps 1-7.

Use your best judgment on this, but I would say, on average, I post in groups like that one to two times a week.

So not a ton, but enough to where people are seeing my face and they're seeing my offers.
