If you’ve ever felt like building a passive income game plan is confusing, overwhelming, or hard to “get right,” I promise you, it doesn’t need to be. In fact, the moment you simplify your passive income strategy is the moment everything will start clicking into place.
Ahead, I’m going to walk you through my exact passive income game plan, the same one that has made me millions of dollars and helped my students get their very first sale all the way to $300K+ months. And here’s the excellent news: it’s simple. Shockingly simple.

1. The Rule of the Five Ones
If you’ve hung around me for more than five minutes, you know where I’m starting: The Rule of the Five Ones.
I repeat this rule obsessively because it’s what changes everything for people just beginning to learn how to make passive income. (Or for the people who can’t quite seem to find success just yet.) And if you follow this one principle, you will make money so much faster than the people who keep bouncing between ideas.
The Rule of the Five Ones is the foundation of how I built my digital product business. It’s simple, and it’s the reason my students start seeing momentum even with tiny audiences.
Here’s what the Rule of Five Ones means:
1. One Problem: Pick one hyper-specific problem you solve. Not a broad niche. Not “helping everyone.” A single, clear problem. This is how your offer becomes an easy yes.
2. One Person: Speak to one audience, not three at the same time.
When your messaging is focused, people instantly feel like, “She gets me.”
3. One Product: Create one beginner-friendly digital product and stick with it long enough for it to work. Not a product suite. Not three different ideas. One offer.
4. One Platform: I recommend you build your traffic on one platform, and I recommend you leverage Instagram to sell your product. (More on that below.) You don’t need to be everywhere for your digital product to be successful. You just need to be consistent in one place.
5. One Year: Commit to your strategy long enough for momentum to kick in. I teach this constantly because it’s the part people resist—but it’s the part that works.
Most people struggle because they keep switching their niche, offer, platform, and/or strategy. And every time they switch, they reset their momentum back to zero.
When you follow the Rule of Five Ones, you stop “starting over” and finally start compounding your effort. I have watched countless students hit their first $1K and $10K months simply because they were willing to go deep on one thing instead of dabbling in twenty things halfway.
Focus on One Thing When Selling Digital Products
2. Build One Hyper-Specific Product
Let me say something that might make your shoulders drop in relief: Your digital product does not need to be big. It needs to be specific.
If you haven’t already heard me say it, it’s important to know: General products don’t sell. Hyper-specific ones do.
If someone can’t immediately understand what your product does and who it helps, they won’t buy. That means you shouldn’t name your offer something vague like:
- Unlock Your Potential
- Elevate Your Life
- The Academy
Those titles could mean anything. Instead, be clear. Be practical. Be obvious. My best-performing products have straightforward names like:
Clarity sells. Always.
Your digital product does not need to be big. It needs to be specific.
3. Use Instagram as Your Fastest Traffic Source
Instagram is the fastest way to get sales, especially if your audience is new or small. Not because you have to dance on camera, but because the platform has three content types that each play a specific role in your passive income game plan.
Here’s the simple breakdown:
1. Reels = Traffic
Reels bring strangers into your world. One good Reel can reach thousands, or even millions, of people who never knew you existed.
Reels work because they give you:
- visibility
- momentum
- Discoverability
Consistent Reels = steady new eyes on your offer every single day.
2. Carousels = Nurture
If Reels bring people in, Carousels are what keep them coming back. This is where you show your expertise, share your perspective, and prove you can help people.
Carousels:
- slow people down
- deliver value clearly
- tell mini-stories
- build authority
This is the content that turns “I just found her” into “I trust her.”
3. Stories = Sales
Stories are where people decide whether they like you and trust you. This is where the relationship is built—your personality, your process, your behind-the-scenes moments.
Stories build connection fast. And that connection? That’s why Stories consistently lead to sales.
Keep in mind: Instagram doesn’t replace your funnel. Instagram feeds your funnel. Your Reels bring in traffic, your Carousels build trust, your Stories convert, and then your funnel and automations take over from there. When you let each part do its job, the whole system runs simply and smoothly. Keep it clean, keep it focused, and watch it work for you every single day.

4. Build Your Funnel Once, Then Let It Run
There isn’t a secret formula for building a funnel for your digital sales product. In fact, it’s quite easy: You make your course once. You make content weekly. You make sales every day.
That’s the entire model, and it works because it’s simple. A strong funnel isn’t complicated or overwhelming. It looks like this:
Instagram → Sales Page → Checkout → Automated Delivery
Clean. Direct. Beginner-friendly.
When you build your sales funnel this way, your sales stop feeling random. No more “good months” and “bad months.” No more hoping a reel goes viral. Instead, your business becomes predictable because the system does the heavy lifting for you every single day.

5. Scale With Organic First, Then Ads
Scaling doesn’t happen all at once; it occurs in layers. And there are really only two types of scaling: organic scaling and paid scaling.
Organic scaling warms your audience, builds daily momentum, and strengthens the system before you ever spend a single dollar on ads. It looks like:
- gradually increasing how often you post
- more Reels over time
- more Carousels that deepen trust
- consistent Stories
- clearer and clearer messaging
On the other hand, paid scaling comes after your funnel is already working. It’s when you use ads to fire up a system that’s proven itself.
Ads don’t replace organic. Ads amplify organic. That’s the whole secret.
You’re Closer Than You Think
I want to end this with something honest and encouraging because I know what it feels like to wonder if this will work for you. And I also know what it feels like to compare yourself to people who seem “further along.”
But here’s the truth: You don’t need to feel ready. You just need to follow a simple plan and stay consistent long enough for the results to show up.
Keep in mind that building a passive income game plan takes time. I know it all feels exciting right now (because it is!), but the real rewards come from a slow, steady build. You’ll find the momentum for your digital product grows quietly until one day it just *clicks.* So, if you feel behind or like you’re missing something, you’re not. You just need to start, keep going, and trust that the momentum will follow.
And I’ll be right here cheering you on the whole way.
